No one won the Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The prize reached a staggering $1.40 billion. The winning numbers were 3, 16, 29, 61, 69, and Powerball 22.

Despite the buzz, no ticket matched all six numbers. The jackpot has now jumped to $1.70 billion for the next drawing on Saturday, September 6.

$1.40 Billion Powerball Jackpot Rolls Over Again

The Sept. 3 drawing marks the 13th time a U.S. lottery jackpot crossed the $1 billion mark. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m. ET.

This particular jackpot had a one-time cash option of $634.3 million. Although there was no grand prize winner, multiple players still walked away with significant winnings.

According to USA Today Network – Florida, four tickets matched five numbers plus Power Play to win $2 million. Those tickets were sold in Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming. Eleven more tickets matched five numbers to win $1 million each. These were sold in California, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

    Who Won the Powerball

When Is the Next Powerball Drawing and What Are the Odds?

The next Powerball drawing is on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025. The jackpot will be worth an estimated $1.70 billion. If a winner claims the one-time payment, they’ll receive around $770.3 million before taxes.

Odds of winning the Powerball grand prize remain 1 in 292.2 million. A ticket costs $2.

The current streak of rollovers began after the last jackpot win on May 31, 2025. That prize was $207 million, won by a player in California. Since then, the jackpot has grown steadily, drawing millions of hopefuls.

In Florida alone, several tickets have earned million-dollar-plus prizes during this roll. The state remains one of the luckiest when it comes to lottery wins.

Is This Powerball Among the Biggest Jackpots in History?

Yes. The Sept. 3, 2025 Powerball jackpot of $1.40 billion is already in the top 5 U.S. lottery prizes. If won on Saturday, Sept. 6, the $1.70 billion jackpot would become the third-largest in U.S. history.

The current record holder is a $2.04 billion Powerball won in November 2022 by Edwin Castro in California. Following that is a $1.765 billion win from October 2023, also in California.

Florida and California continue to appear frequently in the list of big lottery winners. This trend adds excitement for players in these states.

The Powerball jackpot is now at a life-changing $1.70 billion. Will you be the next big winner? Stay tuned.
