XCSSSET Can Hijack Macs and Steal Information

Microsoft has discovered a dangerous malware capable of attacking Mac computers running Apple’s Mac operating system. The company has also warned Mac computer users to stay safe from the malware, called ‘XCSSSET’.

According to Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence team, the malware called XCSSSET is not new. However, the malware has improved significantly compared to the previous ones. This malware, which is able to hide its presence in applications, was first detected in 2020. Now it has become more powerful. As a result, it is difficult to detect and the risk to Mac users has also increased.

According to Microsoft, the most dangerous aspect of the XCSSSET malware is that hackers can use it to create other malicious apps and distribute them through the Mac App Store. This reduces the likelihood of users becoming suspicious. Once this malware enters a computer, hackers can take control of it and steal user data, such as passwords and other personal information. It can even put the user’s bank account at risk.
