Xiaomi has quietly expanded its home cleaning lineup with the launch of the Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 in China, positioning the device as a more affordable option within its growing range of smart cleaning appliances.

The new model arrives not long after the release of its predecessor, bringing a handful of practical upgrades while keeping pricing relatively restrained. At the center of those changes is a noticeable increase in suction capability, now rated at up to 28,000 Pa, compared to 23,000 Pa on the earlier version. The jump suggests a stronger focus on deep cleaning, particularly for households dealing with heavier dust or debris.
The more visible shift, however, comes in how the machine handles mopping. Xiaomi has moved away from rotating mop heads, replacing them with a roller-based system designed to maintain a continuous flow of clean water during operation. An internal scraping mechanism is built in to collect dirt from the roller as it works, an approach that aims to keep the cleaning surface fresher throughout a session.
The vacuum itself retains a low profile, measuring 90 mm in height, which allows it to pass under most furniture. It is equipped with a main brush alongside two extending arms intended to sweep debris from corners and edges, areas that often remain problematic for circular robot designs.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance are handled through onboard cameras capable of identifying up to 220 different types of objects. The system is designed to reduce interruptions during cleaning runs, particularly in cluttered environments. The robot can also handle raised surfaces, managing thresholds of up to 40 mm through a two-stage climbing approach.
A companion docking station comes with additional automation features, including mop washing using water heated to 80 degrees Celsius. The base also includes a removable tray, simplifying routine maintenance. As with other devices in Xiaomiâs ecosystem, the vacuum can be controlled remotely through the companyâs mobile app and integrated with compatible smart home setups.
In China, the Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 is currently available for CNY 2,699, roughly equivalent to $395. There has been no confirmation yet regarding availability outside the domestic market. Previous models in the series have later appeared in Europe under slightly adjusted branding, leaving open the possibility of a broader release under a different name.

For now, the new model sits as a mid-range offering, reflecting Xiaomiâs continued effort to refine features while keeping entry costs within reach for a wider segment of buyers.
