Xiaomi has introduced a new high-end robot cleaner in China, adding a more ambitious model to its smart home lineup with the Mi Home Robot Vacuum 6 Max.
The new machine is positioned as a more advanced step for the brand, with Xiaomi highlighting stronger cleaning hardware and a broader set of automated features than its older robot vacuums. From the details announced so far, the company is clearly aiming at buyers who want more than routine dust pickup.
At the center of the pitch is suction power rated at up to 35,000Pa, a figure Xiaomi says puts the Vacuum 6 Max alongside some of the more powerful machines now appearing in the category. The robot uses a three-brush setup, combining one central roller brush with two side brushes to pull in dust and debris more effectively.
Mopping appears to be one of the more notable changes here. Xiaomi has equipped the model with a roller mop as well as an extending mop head, a combination designed to improve floor coverage. The roller mop receives fresh water from 16 outlets, while dirty water is collected inside the robot itself rather than being spread back across the floor. That detail suggests Xiaomi is putting particular emphasis on cleaner wet washing, not just basic wiping.
The body is also relatively slim at 9.3 cm, which should help it reach under many pieces of furniture. At the same time, Xiaomi says the robot has a climbing chassis with dual mechanical legs, allowing it to get over obstacles up to 6 cm high. That is a striking claim for a home cleaning robot and points to a design meant to handle trickier room layouts.
The company is also leaning heavily on AI functions. According to Xiaomi, the Vacuum 6 Max can identify 280 kinds of obstacles and recognize 47 types of dirt, adjusting its cleaning behavior depending on what it finds. Those are the kinds of features that matter most if the robot performs reliably in everyday use, especially in homes where furniture, cords, thresholds, and mixed surfaces tend to slow down automated cleaners.
Back at the docking station, the robot can empty its onboard dustbin and have its mops washed with 85°C hot water. It also works with Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, with controls available through the companyâs app or voice assistant.
In China, pricing starts at CNY 6,999 for the water tank version. Xiaomi has not said whether the Mi Home Robot Vacuum 6 Max will reach Europe. For now, that remains unanswered, though the launch shows the company is continuing to push deeper into the premium end of the robot vacuum market.
