Blast Crosses ₹30 Crore Worldwide as First-Week Run Holds Steady

The Tamil action thriller Blast has maintained a stable run at the box office during its first week in theatres, giving the film a solid foundation after its release on May 28, 2026.

Directed by Subash K. Raj and produced by AGS Entertainment, the film has collected an estimated ₹21 crore net in India after six days, according to figures reported by box office tracking platform Sacnilk. The latest addition came on June 2, when the film earned an estimated ₹3.45 crore net across the country.

The performance reflects a gradual build from its opening day rather than a front-loaded theatrical run. Blast began with ₹1.25 crore on Thursday before climbing to ₹2.15 crore on Friday. Collections accelerated over the weekend, reaching ₹4.55 crore on Saturday and peaking at ₹6 crore on Sunday.

What stands out in the film’s first-week trajectory is the relative stability after the weekend. Monday collections were reported at ₹3.60 crore, followed by ₹3.45 crore on Tuesday, suggesting that audience turnout remained consistent beyond the initial rush of release.

The Tamil version continues to be the primary contributor to the film’s domestic earnings. On its sixth day alone, it generated ₹2.90 crore net from 1,900 shows, accounting for the bulk of the day’s collection.

Beyond India, Blast has also posted measurable returns in overseas markets. The film added approximately ₹0.50 crore internationally on Day 6, taking its overseas gross collection to about ₹6.80 crore.

Combined with its domestic performance, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached roughly ₹30.93 crore. The figure places Blast within touching distance of the ₹31 crore mark as it completes its first week in cinemas.

The story follows a middle-class family trained in martial arts whose lives are disrupted when they come into conflict with a dangerous criminal gang. Their struggle to survive forms the central thread of a narrative built around action and escalating tension.

Arjun, Preity Mukundhan and Abhirami lead the cast. Supporting performances come from John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram and Pawan Krishnaa. The film’s music has been composed by Ravi Basrur.

Attention will now shift to the upcoming weekend, traditionally a significant period for theatrical business. For the moment, Blast enters the next phase of its run with steady collections and a first-week performance that has given exhibitors and observers a clear indication of its audience appeal.
