Bangladesh Dengue Cases Rise With 839 New Hospital Admissions

By Rithe RoseAugust 24, 20262 Mins Read

The reported development is recorded under the focus phrase Bangladesh dengue cases. Bangladesh recorded 839 new dengue hospital admissions and five deaths in the 24 hours to 8am on August 23, according to figures from the Directorate General of Health Services. The reports placed the 2026 dengue death toll at 82.

Twenty-eight of the reported deaths occurred in August, while hospitals continued to treat patients in several parts of the country. The daily update counted admissions rather than every infection, since many patients may not require hospital care.

Health authorities publish the figures to track dengue patients admitted to hospitals and deaths reported through the surveillance system. The data can change when hospitals submit updates or records are reconciled.

Coverage by bdnews24, The Business Standard and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha attributed the numbers to the DGHS report. People with fever or warning symptoms should follow advice from qualified health professionals rather than rely on a news report for diagnosis.

The current coverage gave the event a specific date and location, or identified the named organisation behind it. Where the reports described a proposal, estimate, scheduled launch or ongoing investigation, those limits remain part of the confirmed account and are not treated as a completed outcome.
