The gold price in Bangladesh has been listed at Tk234,038 per bhori for 22-carat gold in the latest rate update dated August 10, 2026. The same update lists 21-carat gold at Tk223,541 per bhori and 18-carat gold at Tk191,931 per bhori.
The rates are reported by two Bangladesh gold-price tracking sites as the current Bangladesh Jewellers Association, or BAJUS, prices. The trackers also list traditional-method gold at Tk156,822 per bhori. One bhori is equal to 11.664 grams, which puts the listed 22-carat rate at about Tk20,065 per gram.
These figures are the metal rates and are not the final amount a jewellery customer will necessarily pay. The published update says making charges and 5% VAT apply separately. Making charges can vary according to the design, workmanship and shop, so buyers should ask for a written breakdown before completing a purchase.
The latest online figure should also be checked against a jeweller’s current BAJUS circular before a transaction. BAJUS’s own rate page is an official reference, but the page available during this check showed older figures and did not display the August 10 rate in the same format. That difference is why consumers should confirm the date and effective time of any rate quoted at a shop.
Recent reporting by The Business Standard News, using information from BAJUS, shows how quickly the local market can change. A June revision raised the 22-carat rate by Tk5,482 per bhori to Tk228,556 after two earlier cuts. The association attributed that adjustment to the local price of pure gold and said the new rate would remain in effect until another revision.
Gold prices in Bangladesh can change when the international bullion market, the taka-dollar exchange rate or local supply conditions shift. BAJUS may issue a new circular without following a fixed daily timetable, so a price shown online should be treated as time-sensitive rather than a permanent quote.
For buyers checking the August 10 update, the key listed rates are Tk234,038 per bhori for 22-carat, Tk223,541 for 21-carat and Tk191,931 for 18-carat gold. Customers should verify the current circular, purity marking, making charge and VAT before paying, particularly when the price has changed between the online update and the shop visit.
