In September, Appleâs streaming service Apple TV broadcast a key matchup at Fenway Park where the Boston Red Sox secured a postseason berth. The decisive moment came through a thrilling walk-off victory over the Detroit Tigers.
During the broadcast, live footage was captured using four iPhone 17 Pro devices as part of the production setup. One of those devices has now been preserved by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, recognizing its role in documenting the historic game.
Apple Expands iPhone Use in MLB Broadcasts
Apple also confirmed that the iPhone 17 Pro will continue to play a role in baseball broadcasts. The company said iPhones will be further integrated into the lineup of cameras used for selected games in the upcoming season.
The weekly Friday Night Baseball doubleheader returns to Apple TV for the 2026 season starting March 27. The games are included with an Apple TV subscription, which costs $12.99 per month in the United States.
