The latest testing build of Minecraft does not introduce new blocks or biomes. Instead, 26.1 Snapshot 10 turns its attention to something more subtle but, for regular players, arguably more meaningful: how the game looks and behaves in the moments they interact with most.

At the center of this snapshot is a noticeable change to the Golden Dandelion. Players who use it to pause or resume a mobâs development will now see immediate visual feedback. When a mobâs growth is paused, green particles move downward around it. When growth resumes, those particles reverse direction and rise.
Two new particle types have been added to support this: pause_mob_growth and reset_mob_growth. The goal is straightforward. Players no longer have to guess whether their action worked. The effect is visible, and that clarity removes a layer of uncertainty that had previously lingered in survival play, especially for those managing mob farms or more detailed role-play setups.
The update also raises the Data Pack version to 99.3 to ensure compatibility with these changes.
Elsewhere, small but noticeable model adjustments have been made to baby Zombies, Husks and Drowned mobs. Their heads have been scaled down slightly to better match their adult proportions. The change addresses a long-standing visual imbalance that made baby variants appear oversized and somewhat awkward. Players using Resource Pack version 82 will see the corresponding texture updates.
Striders receive attention as well. Baby Striders now animate their bristles correctly. They also inherit warmth from the Strider they stand on, aligning behavior with Bedrock Edition. A bug that caused baby Strider legs to detach visually during attacks has been resolved.
Armor stands have also been corrected. Small variants once again display properly scaled-down adult armor models, fixing visual inconsistencies that had affected decorative builds and custom maps.
Beyond visuals, the snapshot addresses more than 20 issues across gameplay systems. Players can no longer use a Riptide Trident while riding a dragon. Rabbits will not take damage when attempting to jump beneath very low ceilings. Pandas resume their worried animation during thunderstorms. Baby mobs riding other entities should no longer appear to float unnaturally.
Trading has been adjusted so farmers once again offer 18 cookies instead of four. Entity brightness problems tied to lowered brightness settings have been fixed, and CJK IME input issues have received improvements.
As with all snapshots, this remains a testing build. Players are advised to back up existing worlds or use a separate test environment before enabling snapshots through the Installations tab in the Minecraft Launcher.

There is nothing flashy here. No headline-grabbing feature. Yet the steady refinement of visuals, animations and core systems suggests a quieter priority: making everyday play feel consistent and dependable. For long-term players, that kind of polish often carries more weight than a new block ever could.
