Applications are now open for the tulip international summer school 2026, a fully funded 7-day scientific training programme in France hosted by LabEx TULIP. The 14th edition of this prestigious event will take place from 27 June to 3 July 2026 at the Centre de Montagne de Germ Louron in the French Pyrenees.

Titled “Biological Interactions from Genes to Ecosystems,” the tulip international summer school 2026 will bring together young researchers and leading scientists to explore biological interactions across multiple scales — from molecular mechanisms to eco-evolutionary dynamics. The programme is fully funded, there is no application fee, and IELTS is not required.

Program Overview

The tulip international summer school 2026 is an entirely English-speaking event designed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in biological sciences.

Each year, only 24 participants are selected, ensuring a highly interactive and engaging academic experience.

Academic Focus

The programme will cover:

  • Molecular and genetic interactions
  • Organismal biology
  • Population and community ecology
  • Eco-evolutionary processes
  • Interdisciplinary research approaches

Participants will attend morning plenary lectures delivered by senior scientists, followed by afternoon workshops focused on developing collaborative scientific project proposals.

The schedule also includes a hands-on session on designing research calls at the interface of multiple disciplines and a dedicated day to explore the Pyrenees and strengthen networking among participants.

Who Can Apply?

The tulip international summer school 2026 is open to applicants of all nationalities.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Doctoral students (~15 places)
  • Master’s students (~5 places)
  • Postdoctoral researchers (~5 places)

Selected participants will have the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary research topics, develop a team-based research proposal, and network with senior and junior researchers from Toulouse, Moulis, Perpignan, and international institutions.

The programme offers valuable international academic exposure in France.

Scholarship Coverage (Fully Funded)

The tulip international summer school 2026 provides comprehensive financial support for selected participants.

The scholarship covers:

  • Accommodation for the full 7-day programme
  • All meals (mainly prepared using local produce)
  • Vegetarian meal options
  • Bed linens
  • Organised and funded transportation from Toulouse to Germ
  • Full participation in all academic activities

Travel costs to and from Toulouse are not covered. Participants must secure funding from their home institution, laboratory, or mobility grant programmes for international travel expenses.

Proof of travel funding will be required by April 2026, but not at the time of application.

There is no registration fee.
