British singer-songwriter Myles Smith released his debut studio album on Thursday, June 19, completing a rise to global prominence that began with a song most people heard before they knew his name.

The album is called My Mess, My Heart, My Life and was released through RCA Records. It contains 12 tracks. Five of them have already charted in the UK Top 40, including his breakthrough single Stargazing, which peaked at number four in the UK and topped the US Alternative Airplay chart in September 2024.
Stargazing became the biggest song by a UK artist globally in 2024 and has since passed one billion streams on Spotify. Smith, who is from Luton, wrote the song during a period of personal difficulty and called the debut record the most personal thing he has ever made.
The album also includes Nice to Meet You, which peaked at number six in the UK, and a collaboration with Niall Horan called Drive Safe, which charted at number 27. Smith won the BRIT Awards Rising Star prize for 2026. He toured with Ed Sheeran across multiple continents before launching his own headline run.
He is currently on a sold-out arena tour of the United Kingdom. Venues in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow are among those that sold out within hours of tickets going on sale. A North American extension of the tour is expected to be announced in the coming months.
Music has seen several major album moments recently. Olivia Rodrigo is on track for the biggest debut week of her career with her new record. Taylor Swift saw her contribution to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The music chart landscape is shifting week by week as several major artists release in close succession.
Smith’s debut carries less commercial risk than most first albums. With five charting singles already embedded in the tracklist, the core audience has heard a substantial portion of the record before buying it. That dynamic has become more common as artists build streaming numbers ahead of an album’s physical and full digital release.
Reviews have been largely positive. Critics have noted Smith’s ability to write anthemic, emotionally direct pop without leaning on trend-chasing production. His official site has full tour and release details. Armie Hammer also made entertainment headlines this week after his comeback film was banned in Germany before its US release.
