Nothing Phone 4a Pro has officially arrived as the company’s newest mid-range smartphone, introduced alongside the standard Nothing Phone 4a during the early March product reveal. The device brings several upgrades over the regular model, including a metal unibody frame, a larger display, and an advanced camera system.
The new phone also introduces a redesigned back panel featuring the brand’s distinctive Glyph lighting system in a new form called Glyph Matrix. This design shift and hardware upgrade place the Nothing Phone 4a Pro in a slightly higher tier within the company’s mid-range lineup.
Nothing Phone 4a Pro design shifts with metal body and Glyph Matrix
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro stands apart from the standard model primarily through its construction. Instead of the plastic chassis used on the Nothing Phone 4a, the Pro model adopts a metal unibody design. This change allows the device to maintain a slim profile measuring around 7.95mm, making it the thinnest phone released by the company so far.
The rear design also changes noticeably. While the regular Nothing Phone 4a uses a vertical Glyph bar for notifications and visual alerts, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro replaces it with the Glyph Matrix. This circular layout contains 137 mini-LED lights arranged to act almost like a small display embedded in the back of the phone.
These lights can display notifications, call alerts, charging progress indicators, and other status signals. The concept expands on the lighting interface the company introduced in earlier models, but in a more dynamic and interactive format.
The phone also features a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is slightly bigger than the 6.78-inch panel on the standard model. Both phones are positioned in the mid-range category but target users who want distinctive design alongside capable hardware.
Inside the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. The chip is designed to provide improved performance and efficiency compared with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 used in the regular 4a model.
The phone will be offered with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. Battery capacity remains the same as the base model at 5,080mAh, with support for 50W wired charging.
Camera upgrades position Nothing Phone 4a Pro as photography-focused
Photography is one of the main focus areas for the Nothing Phone 4a Pro. The device includes a triple-camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. The camera system also includes a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens that offers 3.5× optical zoom.
This telephoto system enables closer shots without significant quality loss, which is still uncommon in many phones in the same price category. An ultrawide camera is also present, although detailed specifications for that sensor have not been fully disclosed.
On the front, the phone includes a 32-megapixel selfie camera positioned in the display cutout. The camera configuration suggests the company is trying to push the device toward photography enthusiasts who want advanced zoom features without moving to a flagship device.
The overall design language continues the company’s recognizable semi-transparent aesthetic. Internal components and structural elements remain partially visible through the back panel, a design approach that has helped the brand stand out in the smartphone market.
The standard Nothing Phone 4a starts around 350 euros in Europe and is available in multiple colors including pink, white, black, and blue. Availability for the Pro model varies by region, and the device is not expected to launch in the United States.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro signals a continued focus on design-driven smartphones. By combining distinctive lighting features, a metal chassis, and an upgraded camera system, the device pushes the brand’s mid-range lineup closer to premium territory while maintaining its unique visual identity.
