Realme has introduced its latest budget smartphone, the Realme C83 5G, in the Indian market, placing emphasis on battery capacity and display refresh rate in a price segment typically dominated by modest hardware. The device arrives with three storage variants and will be available from March 7.

The entry-level version, offering 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, has been priced at Rs 13,499. A second configuration with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is listed at Rs 14,499. The highest variant includes 6 GB of RAM paired with 128 GB of storage and carries a price tag of Rs 17,499.
At the front of the device sits a 6.8-inch Pixel HD display built on an LCD panel. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and is rated to reach peak brightness of 900 nits. Such display specifications are uncommon in entry-level smartphones and appear to be one of the key features Realme is highlighting in the launch.
The handset runs on an octa-core processor powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6-nanometre process. The processor is paired with LPDDR4X RAM options of 4 GB or 6 GB. Internal storage comes in 64 GB and 128 GB variants using eMMC 5.1 technology.
Realme has also included support for expandable storage through a microSD card, allowing users to extend capacity up to 2 TB. The phone additionally supports virtual RAM assistance, enabling part of the storage to be used to supplement system memory during heavier multitasking.
In the camera department, the device carries a dual-camera setup at the rear led by a 13-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies and video calls, the front houses a 5-megapixel camera. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is included for biometric unlocking.
Battery capacity is one of the phoneâs most prominent specifications. The Realme C83 5G is equipped with a 7000 mAh battery, a size more commonly seen in power-focused devices. Charging support is rated at 15 W.
Other familiar elements remain present as well. The device includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature still valued by many users in the budget category.
With its combination of a large battery, high refresh-rate display and expandable storage, the C83 5G appears designed to target everyday smartphone users who rely on their devices for routine tasks such as streaming content, communication and light gaming.
