Redmagic has officially confirmed the launch of its next gaming smartphone, the redmagic 11 air, in China later this month. Announced via Weibo, the device marks a shift in the Air lineup, moving from a slim-first approach to a more performance-driven gaming flagship, while still maintaining a relatively thin design.

Redmagic 11 Air Launch Date and Design Highlights
The company confirmed that the redmagic 11 air will debut in China on January 20 at 3pm local time. Early teasers reveal a true full-screen display with no visible cut-out, enabled by a 16-megapixel under-display front camera.
Nubia has also confirmed that all variants will feature a transparent rear panel and built-in shoulder triggers aimed at mobile gamers. The phone is being positioned as a full-performance gaming model rather than a lightweight alternative.
Redmagic 11 Air Performance and Cooling Features
Redmagic has highlighted advanced cooling as a key focus for the redmagic 11 air. The phone will include an internal high-speed cooling fan and a thick 4D Ice-Step vapour chamber to manage heat during extended gaming sessions.
It will also ship with Red Magic’s Cube gaming engine, a dedicated Red Core R4 esports chip, and a built-in PC emulator. Despite the added hardware, the handset measures 7.85mm in thickness and is said to include the largest battery ever used in a Red Magic Air-series smartphone.
Redmagic 11 Air Specifications (Expected)
The redmagic 11 air has appeared on China’s TENAA certification site under model number NX799J. The listing suggests a 6.85-inch OLED display with a 1,216 x 2,688 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The rated battery capacity is listed at 6,780mAh, expected to be marketed as around 7,000mAh.
Memory configurations could go up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, with a base variant likely starting at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Camera details include a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The same model has also been spotted on Geekbench, running Android 16 with 16GB RAM. The benchmark results point to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, marking a potential upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in the previous Air model.
With a confirmed launch date, upgraded internals, and a clear shift toward performance, the redmagic 11 air is shaping up to be a full-fledged gaming flagship. Its combination of a true full-screen display, active cooling system, and powerful hardware places the redmagic 11 air firmly in the premium gaming smartphone segment.
