The Batman Part II set footage puts a revised Batsuit in focus

By Beauty NishaSeptember 7, 20264 Mins Read

New set footage from The Batman Part II has given fans a closer look at the suit being used during production, but it does not amount to an official costume reveal from DC or Warner Bros. MovieWeb reported the footage after filming in Glasgow, while SuperHeroHype separately described photos and video showing a stunt performer in an updated version of Batman’s gear.

The Batman Part II

The material is useful because the first film established a strong visual identity for Robert Pattinson’s Batman. The sequel is now being filmed years after The Batman, and even small changes to the cowl, armor or utility belt can become a talking point. Set footage still captures a working production setup, not necessarily the final image that will appear in the finished movie.

SuperHeroHype’s report identifies Rick English, a stunt double, in the suit shown in the new photos. That distinction matters. A stunt performer may wear equipment designed for movement, protection and repeated action work. It can differ from the hero costume used in close-ups or from the version that receives final visual-effects treatment.

The newer images appear to show a familiar black armored design with possible adjustments around the head and waist. Another set video led coverage to discuss a yellow-toned utility belt. The color and shape are difficult to judge in low-light footage, so the belt should be described as a visible set detail rather than a confirmed redesign of Batman’s equipment.

The production context also explains why the footage has drawn attention. The Batman Part II is being made as a continuation of Matt Reeves’ version of Gotham, with Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne and Batman. DC’s official page for the first film confirms the creative world and the principal cast of that earlier story. It does not confirm the sequel’s costume details or plot.

There is a practical reason for keeping the changes measured. Batman’s suit has to communicate the character while allowing the actor and stunt team to work through fights, driving scenes and falls. A darker suit can help preserve the first film’s grounded tone, while a different belt or cowl may signal progression without discarding the visual language audiences already know.

Set videos can also create false certainty. Camera distance, lighting, lenses, compression and unfinished props can make a small change look larger than it is. Production footage may show a duplicate suit, a stunt version or equipment that will be altered before release. The images support the claim that a suit was used on set, but they cannot settle every question about the final costume.

MovieWeb’s current item therefore belongs in the category of production news, not a confirmed DC product announcement. SuperHeroHype’s reports add independent detail about the Glasgow shoot and the stunt performer, while DC’s official material supplies the background for the character. None of those sources confirms a full costume specification, a trailer date or a story development.

For viewers, the main takeaway is continuity with room for small changes. The footage suggests that Reeves’ team is refining the equipment for the sequel, while the familiar black silhouette remains recognizable. Whether the reported belt detail survives into the final cut will be clear only when DC or Warner Bros. releases official images or the film reaches theaters.

The Batman Part II set footage has renewed interest in the sequel because costume details are an easy way to read a production still. The responsible conclusion is narrower than the online speculation: filming material shows an updated-looking Batsuit in use, but the finished design remains unconfirmed. Fans will need to wait for an official reveal before treating any single set clip as the final word.
