INTERNATIONAL DESK: Winter kits have been distributed to the people of north Kashmir’s Tangmarg, Pattan, Kreeri, Palhalan, Kandi, and Baramulla. The kits have been provided under the “Mission Wushnare” inaugurated by Director of Kashmir Tourism Dr. GN Itoo at Bilaliya Educational Institute, Lal Bazar.
The kits have been given to 206 families of these villages.
“KWT has been at the forefront of extending helping hand to downtrodden families. I appreciate KWT for its contribution towards society,” Dr G N Itoo said.
Noted educationist Shafqat Jahan highlighted humanitarian and educational initiatives by KWT and Bilaliya Educational Institute.
“These institutes have been working for downtrodden families and providing an educational platform to children,” Jahan said.
On the occasion, KWT felicitated individuals who have left a mark in their respective fields.
The awardees included social activist Tariq Ahmad Patloo, RTI activist Dr Raja Muzaffar, educationist Shafqat Jahan, and journalist Arif Shafi Wani. (Daily Sikh)
