Microsoft has opened the next stage of its Xbox 25th anniversary campaign with preorders for the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console and a matching special-edition controller. Xbox Wire said selected fans received invitations first, followed by an opportunity for players in selected markets to order through the Xbox website and participating retailers from Aug. 27.
The anniversary collection is priced at a suggested retail price of $899.99 in the United States and is scheduled to launch on Nov. 13, 2026. The price and release date come from Xbox’s official announcement; regional pricing, taxes, shipping and stock can vary. Microsoft says preorders are limited to one collection per customer, a restriction intended to manage demand for the numbered hardware.
The console uses a translucent original Xbox green design and carries an individual number engraved on each unit. The package also includes a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved, the modern remake of the campaign that helped define the original Xbox era. The download is part of the collection and should not be confused with a separate physical game disc unless a local retailer lists one.
The X25 wireless controller is sold separately. Xbox says that accessory is scheduled for Oct. 20 and uses the same green, transparent-inspired styling. The details give fans two different purchase decisions: the full anniversary console collection for collectors and new hardware buyers, or the controller for players who already own an Xbox Series console.
Search interest around xbox series x 25th anniversary has concentrated on price, preorder access, release date and whether the console will sell out. The official announcement confirms the first three points but does not promise unlimited supply. Availability is subject to stock, market participation and the retailer’s order process. A preorder invitation is not the same as a guarantee that every buyer will receive a unit.
The anniversary hardware sits within a broader year of Xbox celebrations, including fan events, community designs and merchandise. Microsoft’s June showcase previously introduced the X25 concept, while the latest Xbox Wire notice supplies the current ordering information. Buyers should use the official Xbox site or authorized retailers and avoid unverified resale listings that add fees or make unsupported delivery claims.
