Xiaomi has expanded its entry-level smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi A7 4G and Redmi A7 Pro 4G, adding two new 4G models to the Redmi A-series portfolio shortly after the company introduced the Redmi A7 Pro 5G in the market.

The two devices share much of their hardware, though Xiaomi has positioned the Pro model slightly above the standard variant with a larger display, a bigger battery, and a longer software support commitment.
The Redmi A7 4G comes with a 6.88-inch LCD display, while the Redmi A7 Pro 4G features a marginally larger 6.9-inch panel. Both phones support a 120Hz refresh rate and offer HD+ resolution alongside a 240Hz touch sampling rate, specifications that are increasingly appearing in the affordable segment.
Inside, Xiaomi has equipped both smartphones with the Unisoc T7250 processor. The devices ship with up to 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Storage expansion is also supported through a dedicated microSD card slot.
Camera hardware remains identical across the two models. Xiaomi has included a 13-megapixel primary rear camera on both devices, paired with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity marks one of the clearer differences between the handsets. The standard Redmi A7 4G carries a 5,200mAh battery, while the Redmi A7 Pro 4G packs a larger 6,300mAh unit. Both support 15W wired charging and also offer 7.5W reverse wired charging.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP52-rated splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a USB Type-C port.
Software support also differs between the two models. The Redmi A7 4G ships with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 and is scheduled to receive two years of Android updates along with four years of security patches.
The Redmi A7 Pro 4G, meanwhile, arrives with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi says the Pro model is expected to receive four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, a longer support window than typically seen in the budget category.
In terms of pricing, the Redmi A7 4G is available in a single 3GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration priced at INR 10,499. It will be sold in Black and Sky Blue color options.
The Redmi A7 Pro 4G is offered with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and is priced at INR 11,499. Buyers will be able to choose between Sunset Orange and Black finishes.

Xiaomi said both smartphones will go on sale in India starting April 24 through the companyâs official online store, Flipkart, and offline retail outlets. The launch further strengthens competition in Indiaâs low-cost smartphone market, where battery life, software support, and display features continue to play a larger role in buying decisions.
