The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Max has officially launched in China as the most powerful Turbo-series smartphone so far. The new model focuses on performance, battery endurance, and display upgrades. Sales have already begun in China across multiple RAM and storage variants.

The device introduces a new MediaTek chipset, a massive battery, and a refreshed design language. Xiaomi positions the phone as a performance-first option aimed at gamers and heavy users.

The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports high-frequency PWM dimming combined with DC dimming for better eye comfort. Xiaomi claims peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, enabled by its new M10 display material.

The phone uses a CNC-machined metal frame paired with a fiberglass back panel. A racetrack-style camera module sits on the rear, highlighted by a dual-ring turbine-style light strip. Color options include Shadow Black, Ocean Blue, Auspicious Cloud White, and Sunshine Orange.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. It is built on a 3nm manufacturing process and uses an all-big-core CPU architecture with a large cache. Xiaomi says this is the first smartphone globally to ship with this chipset.

For sustained performance, the phone includes a flagship-grade 3D ice-cooling pump system. Xiaomi also adds its in-house Rampage Engine to stabilize frame rates during extended gaming sessions. The device supports high frame rate output in demanding 3D games.

The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with optical and electronic image stabilization. It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the back. On the front, the phone features a 20MP selfie camera for video calls and photography.

The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Max runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 on top. It uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Configurations range from 12GB to 16GB RAM, with storage options going up to 512GB.

Xiaomi has added practical hardware upgrades as well. These include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, improved antenna tuning, advanced positioning systems, and water resistance.

The headline feature is the battery. The phone packs a 9000mAh battery, one of the largest seen in a mainstream performance smartphone. Xiaomi claims more than 11 hours of continuous heavy usage despite the high-end hardware.

The device supports 100W wired fast charging and the 100W PPS protocol. It also offers 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to power other devices when needed.

Pricing Strategy and Market Positioning

In China, the Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Max is available in four variants. The base model starts with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the top version offers 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Pricing places the phone firmly in the upper mid-range segment.

Xiaomi appears to be targeting users who want flagship-level performance without moving into ultra-premium pricing tiers. The combination of a cutting-edge chipset and a large battery differentiates it from competitors.

Industry watchers expect the device to be rebranded for international markets. In India, it is widely expected to launch under the Poco brand as the Poco X8 Pro Max, following Xiaomi’s established rebranding strategy.
