Vivo T5x 5G Set For March 17 Launch With Large Battery And Dimensity Chip

By Tarek HasanMarch 12, 20263 Mins Read

Vivo has confirmed that its upcoming smartphone, the Vivo T5x 5G, will be introduced in India on March 17 at 12pm IST. The device will follow the Vivo T4x 5G, which the company released in March 2025, and will arrive in a segment where competition among mid-range Android phones remains intense.

According to the company, the handset will be available for purchase after launch through the online marketplace Flipkart, Vivo’s own e-store and authorised retail outlets across India. Pricing has not been formally announced, though Vivo’s promotional material suggests the phone will target the under-Rs 23,000 category.

The brand has positioned the model as a performance-focused option in that price range. In recent promotional messaging, Vivo described the device as the fastest phone available below that price threshold, a claim that will be closely watched once independent testing begins after release.

One of the features the company has already highlighted is battery capacity. The Vivo T5x 5G is expected to carry a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says would be the largest in its class. Reports linked to the launch indicate support for 44W fast charging, a feature designed to reduce downtime for users who rely heavily on their phones during the day.

Processing duties will be handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset. Vivo says internal testing has pushed the device past the one-million mark on the AnTuTu Benchmark performance test, suggesting the phone should comfortably manage gaming, multitasking and other demanding workloads.

Software will be based on OriginOS 6, Vivo’s interface built on Android 16. That combination is expected to deliver the company’s latest system features and interface updates, though the exact feature list has not yet been detailed.

Durability has also been part of the early messaging around the device. Vivo says the phone will carry both IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating resistance to dust and water exposure during regular use.

Details about the display remain limited for now. Teaser materials point to a large screen with slim bezels intended to offer an immersive viewing experience, but exact specifications such as resolution and refresh rate are expected to be confirmed during the launch presentation.

With several key elements already disclosed, the March 17 event will likely focus on filling in the remaining details, including design choices and camera capabilities. Until then, the company’s preview offers a broad outline of what it intends to bring to India’s crowded mid-range smartphone market.
