Nubia has used this year’s Mobile World Congress gathering to introduce a new line of gaming-focused smartphones, unveiling the Neo 5 series as part of its expanding portfolio for performance-oriented users.

The lineup consists of three devices: the Neo 5, Neo 5 GT and Neo 5 Max. For now, the company has only disclosed the full technical details of the Neo 5 GT, positioning it as the most feature-rich model in the group.
At the centre of the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, paired with a cooling system that nubia says sets the phone apart in its category. The Neo 5 GT includes a built-in active cooling fan along with a large 29,508mm² cooling chamber intended to manage heat during extended gaming sessions.
Gaming hardware is a clear focus throughout the design. The phone supports LPDDR Max memory with speeds of up to 6,400Mbps and incorporates a 360-degree game antenna aimed at maintaining stable connectivity. Nubia has also added its Neo Triggers 5.0 shoulder controls, which operate at a 550Hz sampling rate.
Touch response is another area the company is highlighting. The display supports an instant touch sampling rate of 3,049Hz, a figure aimed at improving responsiveness during competitive gameplay.
On the front, the Neo 5 GT carries a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. Peak brightness is rated at up to 4,500 nits, suggesting strong visibility under bright conditions.
Power comes from a 6,210mAh dual-cell battery. Nubia says the phone supports 80W wired charging and includes bypass charging, a feature designed to allow gaming while minimizing battery heat and wear.
The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel triple rear system, while a 16-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. Stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support are also included, alongside RGB lighting and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Software features include AI Game Space 5.0 and several additional AI-driven tools designed to assist gaming performance and system management.
Nubia plans to release the Neo 5 GT globally, beginning with markets in Southeast Asia. The device will start at €399 and will be offered in three color options.
The standard Neo 5 will arrive at a lower starting price of €299, also in three shades. Meanwhile, nubia has confirmed that the Neo 5 Max will feature a notably large 7.5-inch display, though further details about that model have yet to be shared.
