Acer has introduced the Predator XB253Q U1, a 24.5-inch gaming monitor with a Full HD resolution and a rated refresh rate of 1,000 Hz. The company announced it at IFA 2026 in Berlin on September 2.

The monitor uses an IPS panel with a 1,920 by 1,080 resolution. Acer lists a 0.3-millisecond response time using its VRB Pro blur-reduction system. The specification also includes AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync support.

Acer says the screen reaches 400 nits in typical use and 450 nits in HDR mode. The company has also included a circular polarizer feature that it describes as part of its eye-care design.

A 1,000 Hz refresh rate is most relevant to competitive games that can produce very high frame rates. It does not make every game run at that speed. The computer, graphics card, game engine and selected settings all affect the final frame rate.

Tom’s Hardware reported that Acer’s new monitor range spans several display technologies and price levels. Its coverage identified the Predator XB253Q U1 as the small, high-speed model in the new lineup, while larger models focus on resolution, OLED panels or local dimming.

Acer’s launch material positions the XB253Q U1 for esports players. That audience may value motion clarity and response behavior more than a larger screen or a higher resolution. The Full HD panel also places a lower rendering demand on a gaming PC than a 4K panel.

Acer has not announced one global release date for the XB253Q U1 in the press material. It says its monitor lineup will reach different regions in different periods. Local price and availability information will therefore need to come from Acer’s regional channels.

The Predator XB253Q U1 is a product announcement, not a promise that a 1,000 Hz mode will improve every player’s performance. Its confirmed features are the Full HD IPS panel, the rated refresh rate, the response specification and the adaptive-sync support.
