Acer has announced the Swift Air 16, a 16-inch Windows 11 laptop scheduled to reach North America in the first quarter of 2027. The company introduced it alongside the Swift Blade 14 at its IFA 2026 press event in Berlin on September 2.

The Swift Air 16 uses an aluminum chassis and weighs 1.5 kilograms. It is 13.3 millimeters thick in the published specification. Acer lists elemental blue, sage green and sandstone gold as the available chassis colors.

The laptop will use Intel Core Series 3 processors, with the highest listed option being the Intel Core 7 processor 350. Acer lists up to 16 GB of onboard LPDDR5x memory and up to 512 GB of onboard PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. The company also says the storage can be expanded externally by up to 1 TB.

Display options are split between OLED and IPS panels. The top OLED version has a 2,880 by 1,800 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and full DCI-P3 coverage. The IPS touch configuration supports a 1,920 by 1,200 resolution and full sRGB coverage.

Acer puts a 70 Wh battery in the Swift Air 16. The company says a 100-watt adapter can charge the battery to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The laptop also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A port and a 3.5-millimeter audio jack.

Audio comes from four speakers with DTS Virtual:X support. The webcam is a 1080p infrared camera with a privacy shutter and Windows Hello facial recognition. Those details position the laptop for office work, video calls and media use as well as travel.

Acer says the Swift Air 16 will arrive in EMEA in December 2026. North American availability is planned for the first quarter of 2027. The announcement does not list a starting price, and Acer says exact specifications and pricing can vary by region.

The Swift Air 16 is distinct from Acer’s 799-gram Swift Blade 14. It offers a larger display, a bigger battery and more connectivity, but it is also heavier. The new announcement gives buyers a clear choice between extreme portability and a larger work screen.
