Apple Arcade’s October Lineup Adds Pusheen and Zombie Action

By Arif ArmanSeptember 9, 20263 Mins Read

Apple Arcade will add a new group of games on October 1, led by Pusheen’s Place and River City Survivors. Apple’s newsroom and MacRumors both report the lineup, which also includes Terraria+, Touchgrind BMX 2+ and 4 Pics 1 Word+. The additions give the subscription service a mix of casual, action and established App Store games.

Pusheen’s Place is the first officially licensed game starring the popular cat character. Apple says players can build a Pusheen-themed space, collect more than 100 cats and decorate rooms for characters such as Pusheenicorn and Pancake Pop. The game is designed as a relaxed collecting and decorating experience rather than a competitive multiplayer title.

River City Survivors takes the opposite route. Apple describes it as a survivors-style action game built around waves of zombies, special moves and randomised upgrades. Players can choose from more than 20 characters, including Kunio and Riki, and recruit up to two companions. The format is built for repeated runs in which the player improves a build while fighting through large groups of enemies.

Three App Store favourites are also joining the service. Terraria+ is a sandbox action-adventure edition with the Bigger & Boulder 1.4.5 update. Apple says that update includes a Dead Cells crossover and characters from Palworld. Touchgrind BMX 2+ focuses on physics-based bike stunts, while 4 Pics 1 Word+ brings a picture-based puzzle format to the subscription catalog.

Apple says the titles will be available without advertising or in-app purchases through Apple Arcade. The service is offered across Apple devices, although individual games can have different hardware and software requirements. The company’s regional pages also warn that availability can vary by area.

The October update shows Apple using two approaches to keep the catalog fresh. A licensed character can attract casual players who want a familiar world, while a long-running game series can serve people looking for deeper sessions. Adding updated versions of App Store games also gives subscribers a way to play without the advertising and purchase systems found in many free downloads.

The full lineup arrives on October 1, not immediately on the announcement date. Players who already subscribe can watch the Arcade tab for the release, while new customers should check the current price and device compatibility in their region. The confirmed list is the five games announced by Apple; any additional October titles should not be treated as part of this lineup without a separate announcement.
