Xiaomi’s SkyNomad Range-Extended SUVs Start at RMB 209,900

By Saleh MohammadSeptember 9, 20262 Mins Read

Xiaomi has launched its SkyNomad range-extended electric SUV family in China, expanding the technology company’s vehicle business beyond its earlier battery-electric models. Autocar Professional reported the launch on September 8, while CnEVPost and BitAuto separately covered the N70 and N90 models and their Chinese-market pricing.

The lineup is built around an extended-range electric vehicle, or EREV, powertrain. The wheels are driven electrically, while a petrol engine works as a generator when the battery needs more energy. That approach gives buyers electric driving for shorter trips without making long journeys dependent on public charging alone.

Reports place the starting price of the entry N70 Pro at RMB 209,900. Higher variants of the N70 and N90 carry higher prices, with the largest and most equipped versions reaching close to RMB 300,000 in China. Exact equipment and pricing vary by model, so the headline starting figure should not be read as the price of the full range.

The SkyNomad N70 is positioned as a five-seat SUV, while the N90 provides a larger seven-seat layout in the reported lineup. CnEVPost says Xiaomi announced the N70 Pro, N70 Max and N90 Max ahead of the launch event. Autocar Professional reports a broader four-variant range. Because the published reports describe the variants differently, buyers should rely on Xiaomi’s final configuration list for a precise market comparison.

Range is a major part of the launch story. Autocar Professional reports a combined figure of up to 1,705 kilometres for the range-topping version. BitAuto and other reports also describe a substantial electric-only range for selected versions. These figures use Chinese testing standards, so they should not be compared directly with EPA or WLTP numbers without a clear conversion and test-cycle label.

The launch also shows Xiaomi’s wider approach to connected mobility. The company is bringing its software, consumer-device brand and vehicle technology into the same product family. A China launch does not confirm overseas sales, however. Xiaomi has not announced that the SkyNomad SUVs will be sold in Bangladesh, India, the United States or other markets.

For now, the confirmed story is a China launch of a new range-extended SUV family with a reported RMB 209,900 starting point and multiple N70 and N90 configurations. Global availability, local certification and final equipment lists remain separate questions.
