Arjun Sarja’s martial arts action thriller Blast has continued to add to its box office total despite the expected slowdown that often accompanies a film’s second week in theatres. While collections dipped on its 13th day, the film has maintained enough momentum to remain on course for another significant milestone at the domestic box office.

According to figures reported by Sacnilk, Blast collected Rs 1.04 crore net in India on Day 13. The latest figure represents a decline of 28.3 percent from the Rs 1.45 crore net earned on Day 12. The drop comes as the film settles into its second week, a period when most theatrical releases begin to face softer daily returns.
Even with the decline, the film’s overall performance remains stable. Blast has now accumulated Rs 38.23 crore in net collections across India, bringing it within reach of the Rs 40 crore mark. Its domestic gross collection stands at Rs 43.96 crore.
Tuesday’s performance was supported by a wide theatrical presence, with the film screening across 1,491 shows. The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 20.19 percent during the day. Audience turnout was strongest during the night shows, which registered an occupancy of 26.15 percent.
Internationally, the film has continued to contribute to the overall total. Overseas markets have generated Rs 13.40 crore in gross collections, helping push Blast’s worldwide gross earnings to Rs 57.36 crore.
The film enjoyed a healthy opening week, collecting Rs 25.78 crore net during its first seven days in cinemas. Day 7 alone contributed Rs 2.75 crore net, providing a strong finish to the opening week before collections began to moderate in line with industry trends.
Directed by debutant filmmaker Subash K. Raj, Blast centres on Rajaram, a karate teacher whose quiet life with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila is disrupted when a powerful corporate syndicate threatens the family. The film combines family drama with frequent action set pieces, a blend that appears to have resonated with audiences during its theatrical run.
Much of the discussion surrounding the film has focused on its action choreography. In its review, ETimes noted that the film’s strongest moments emerge from several unexpected creative choices within its action sequences. The review highlighted the way key action developments are distributed among different characters rather than relying solely on the lead performers.
The review also pointed to the film’s steady stream of action scenes, observing that major action blocks arrive every few minutes while remaining engaging for much of the runtime through familiar but effective twists.

As Blast moves deeper into its second week, its box office performance suggests that audience interest has remained intact, even as daily collections begin to settle into a more typical post-opening pattern.
