Xiaomi has introduced its new Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro smartphones in China, bringing a focus on battery longevity and imaging features developed in partnership with Leica.
The launch adds two new devices to the company’s smartphone lineup, with both models built around a new-generation 7000mAh battery that Xiaomi says can deliver up to 1.88 days of use on a single charge. The company also claims the battery will retain 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles.
One of the most notable aspects of the announcement is Xiaomi’s decision to offer a five-year official battery warranty in China for the new devices, reflecting confidence in the long-term durability of the battery technology used in the series.
The standard Xiaomi 17T enters the market at a starting price of 2,999 yuan, or roughly $445. It features a 6.59-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Dimensity 8500 Ultra platform. The device supports 67W fast charging.
The higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro arrives with more advanced hardware. It includes a larger 6.83-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and runs on the Dimensity 9500 chipset. Charging capabilities have also been expanded, with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Photography remains a central part of Xiaomi’s strategy for the new series. The camera systems in both smartphones were developed in collaboration with Leica, with the partnership aimed at improving color reproduction and overall image quality.
Alongside the camera hardware, Xiaomi has introduced several software-based imaging features. These include Live Photos support and a mode that allows users to combine images into dynamic photo sequences designed for sharing on social media platforms.
The launch follows earlier reports regarding the planned international release of the Xiaomi 17T series. Xiaomi has now formally unveiled the devices in its home market, highlighting battery endurance, charging performance and camera capabilities as key features of the new lineup.
