The phrase fromm and oma’s pride recalls now points to two separate U.S. dog-food safety notices, with different products, hazards and lot details. The Food and Drug Administration says owners should check the exact product information before deciding whether a package is affected.
Fromm Family Foods recalled 3,852 cases of Turkey Pate wet dog food and 1,973 cases of Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pate. The FDA notice says the products may contain metal. The affected items were distributed through retail and online channels in the United States and Canada.
Fromm said it had received no reports of illness or injury connected with the recalled canned foods at the time of the notice. Consumers who have a matching product should stop feeding it and contact the retailer about a return or refund.
Oma’s Pride separately recalled one lot of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe sold in a six-pound bag. The FDA identified lot BB012729 and said testing found Salmonella. The agency’s updated notice listed 639 bags and reported three illnesses in dogs connected with the consumer complaint.
KESQ reported that the Oma’s Pride action had not involved a reported human illness, but contaminated pet food can still expose people during handling. Owners should wash hands, bowls and storage surfaces after contact with a recalled item and keep it away from pets.
The safest check is the FDA notice for each brand, not a general brand name or a social-media post. A package should be removed from use only after comparing its product, lot and best-by information with the official recall details.
