Nearly a month after release, the theatrical run of Border 2 has slowed to modest daily figures, a familiar trajectory for big holiday openings once the initial rush passes.

The war drama, led by Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, entered its fourth Sunday with earnings of Rs 1.5 crore, according to trade tracking figures cited by Sacnilk. The film had opened strongly, collecting Rs 30 crore on its first day and surging to Rs 59 crore during the Republic Day holiday period.
That early momentum helped build a large opening week total of Rs 224.25 crore. However, the pace tapered in subsequent weeks, with Week 2 bringing in Rs 70.15 crore and Week 3 adding Rs 23.35 crore. The current week has shown the expected late-run pattern, including Rs 0.8 crore on Friday, Rs 1.9 crore on Saturday and the latest Sunday figure.
The cumulative domestic collection now stands at Rs 321.95 crore. Worldwide earnings, from the same reporting source, are said to have reached Rs 440.25 crore.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film serves as a spiritual continuation of Border, originally made by JP Dutta. This time, production responsibilities were taken on by Nidhi Dutta.
Like its predecessor, the story draws from the India-Pakistan war of 1971, but the narrative shifts across different battlefronts rather than focusing on a single unit. Alongside the principal cast, the film also features Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, with Medha Rana, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh in supporting roles.
Released in theatres on January 23, 2026, the film benefited early from the holiday window but is now moving into the typical late-cycle phase of its theatrical run. The current figures suggest stable, if limited, footfall as it completes its fourth week on screens.

For exhibitors, the numbers point less to a sudden fall and more to the gradual winding down that follows a front-loaded opening. With most major collections already secured in the first two weeks, the remaining days appear to be adding incremental totals rather than reshaping the overall box office story.
