Chevrolet is trimming its Silverado EV lineup for the 2027 model year, cutting the electric pickup’s available configurations from ten down to seven as the automaker narrows its trim strategy.

The automaker is eliminating three configurations from the lineup: the LT Max Range (4LT), the RST Extended Range (2SP) and the RST Max Range (3SP), according to order guide details reviewed by industry outlets covering the changes. The result is a smaller, more focused set of trims for buyers to choose from heading into the new model year.
The RST trim itself will not disappear entirely. For 2027, it returns in a limited form as the Stars & Steel Special Edition, rather than as a standalone configuration spread across multiple range and drivetrain combinations as it was before.
Chevrolet plans to start 2027 model year production on Oct. 12, 2026, with dealer orders opening ahead of that date. Production of the outgoing 2026 model year Silverado EV is set to wrap up on Oct. 9, 2026, leaving only a few days between the end of one model year’s build and the start of the next.
The Silverado EV has been central to Chevrolet’s push into electric trucks, competing against Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Rivian’s R1T in a segment where sales have cooled compared with earlier industry projections. Automakers across the board have been adjusting EV production plans this year as demand growth slows and buyers gravitate toward hybrids in some markets.
Trimming configurations is a common move for manufacturers looking to simplify production lines and reduce inventory complexity while demand for electric trucks remains uneven. Fewer trims can also help dealers stock a more predictable mix of vehicles rather than spreading orders thin across many niche configurations.
Chevrolet has not detailed pricing for the streamlined 2027 lineup. Those figures are expected to surface in updated order guides as the October production start date approaches, giving buyers and dealers a clearer picture of what the simplified Silverado EV range will cost.
