Dell XPS 13 Leak Points to Snapdragon Googlebook Model

By Bhuiyan Md TomalAugust 10, 20262 Mins Read

Benchmark listings suggest Dell is building a Googlebook version of its XPS 13, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chip and running Google’s Android 17 desktop platform.

The evidence surfaced through Geekbench 6, where a device labeled “Dell XPS 13 (DX13267)” appeared alongside an alternate listing tagged “Google Multi-device ARM64.” The codename “Mica” first showed up in July inside a Chromium code repository, tied to Qualcomm’s “Bluey” reference platform for Snapdragon X-series Googlebooks.

Software footprints in the listing reference an active Android 17 desktop build called “Aluminium OS,” the platform Google introduced at its I/O conference this year to sit alongside, and eventually replace, ChromeOS on laptops.

The leaked specs describe a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite processor with a 45 TOPS Hexagon neural processor for on-device AI tasks, paired with 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. The screen is a 13.4-inch OLED touch panel at 2880 by 1800 resolution, with Wi-Fi 7 and Googlebook-specific extras including an illuminated lid strip and biometric security.

Early Geekbench 6 results show single-core scores near 2,200 and multi-core scores above 9,500, figures in line with other Snapdragon X Elite devices already on the market.

Dell has historically kept its ChromeOS efforts to business-focused models, so a consumer Googlebook wearing the XPS name would mark a shift. Lenovo and Asus have also shown early Googlebook hardware, including a 13-inch detachable and a 15-inch laptop from Lenovo.

Google has not confirmed a launch date for its Googlebook lineup, though the leaks are accumulating ahead of what’s expected to be a fall hardware event.

Dell has not commented on the leak, and it remains unclear whether the Googlebook version of the XPS 13 will launch alongside or instead of the existing Windows-based model. Regulatory filings and benchmark leaks have become the primary way Googlebook hardware surfaces ahead of launch, since neither Google nor its partners have detailed the platform’s rollout publicly.
