A film that had shown little sign of fatigue in its first stretch has finally eased its pace. Dhurandhar 2, led by Ranveer Singh, recorded its first clear slowdown at the box office on its second Monday, after an unusually strong run that had seen it dominate daily earnings since release.

The drop, while modest, has drawn attention largely because of how late it has arrived. Most releases begin to taper off within the first week. Here, the shift came only after 11 days of sustained momentum. On day 12, the film added Rs 25 crore domestically, taking its India net collection to Rs 872 crore. The gross figure within India now stands at Rs 1,042 crore.
Those numbers still place the film in rare territory. Even with the dip, its hold over the domestic market remains firm, with collections among the highest recorded for a Hindi-language release. Trade tracking shows it now trailing only two major titles in IndiaâPushpa 2 and Baahubali 2: The Conclusionâin overall domestic earnings.
Part of that resilience can be traced to its second weekend, which delivered over Rs 170 crore net. That figure alone exceeds the opening weekends of many recent releases, underlining the scale of its early pull.
Overseas, the filmâs trajectory has followed a similar pattern. It opened to $7 million and crossed $22 million by the end of its first weekend. By the second Monday, it had added close to $1 million more, pushing the overseas total to around $38 million. In North America, it has already moved past the long-standing benchmark set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in that market.
Globally, the film now stands at Rs 1,392 crore. That places it within reach of a small group of high-performing Indian titles, though it still sits behind Dangal, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa 2 in worldwide earnings.
The filmâs cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Released on March 19, it builds directly on the success of the first instalment, Dhurandhar, which had collected Rs 1,300 crore worldwide and continues to run in theatres.

For now, the slowdown appears less a sign of decline and more a shift into the steadier phase that typically follows an extended opening surge. The coming days will show how firmly it can hold that ground.
