Samsung appears to be preparing for one of its busiest hardware launches in recent years, with reports indicating the company may hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22. While Samsung has not officially confirmed the date or product lineup, attention has already shifted toward what could be a broad expansion of its foldable and wearable strategy.

Much of the discussion ahead of the event centers on the expected arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a device that reportedly continues Samsung’s gradual refinement of foldable phones rather than introducing a dramatic redesign. The company is expected to focus on reducing thickness and weight while improving durability through updates to the hinge and display structure.

Reports suggest Samsung is working to make the fold crease less visible, an issue that has remained one of the more closely watched aspects of foldable hardware. Battery efficiency improvements are also expected, alongside updates to the processor and camera system intended to keep the device positioned within Samsung’s premium smartphone lineup.

The Fold 8 is rumored to retain a 7.6-inch inner Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, paired with a 6.3-inch external display. Samsung may also continue supporting the S-Pen on the inner screen, maintaining the device’s focus on multitasking and productivity use. Storage options are expected to extend up to 1TB, with higher RAM configurations reportedly under consideration.

Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 8, continuing the company’s smaller foldable line. While fewer details have emerged about the device, reports point to a larger outer display and upgraded internal hardware while preserving the familiar clamshell-style design that has helped distinguish the series.

Another device drawing attention is the rumored Galaxy Fold Wide. According to reported specifications, the model could move away from the narrow outer display design used in previous Fold devices in favor of a wider layout intended to resemble a more conventional smartphone when closed.

The reported approach appears aimed at improving day-to-day usability while also expanding multitasking space once unfolded. Reports suggest the Fold Wide may include an 8-inch internal display and a more advanced camera system featuring a high-resolution primary sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. Samsung is also expected to emphasize portability despite the device’s larger footprint.

Wearables are likely to remain a major part of the presentation. The Galaxy Watch 9 lineup is expected to receive updates focused on battery performance, health tracking tools, and notification management rather than a significant visual redesign.

Outside smartphones, Samsung’s reported entry into smart glasses may attract some of the strongest attention at the event. The company is rumored to be working with Gentle Monster on a wearable device referred to in reports as the Galaxy Glasses.

The glasses are expected to combine artificial intelligence functions, augmented reality features, and smartphone connectivity in a lightweight form factor. Reported features include live translation support, integrated cameras, and AR-based notifications, although Samsung has not publicly detailed the product.

If the reported lineup proves accurate, the event would signal Samsung’s continued effort to push beyond traditional smartphones and deepen its focus on foldable devices and AI-connected wearables. It would also reflect how central foldable hardware has become to the company’s broader product direction as competition in the premium mobile market continues to evolve.

For now, Samsung has yet to formally confirm either the event date or the devices expected to appear. Until then, attention remains on whether the company’s latest foldables can further narrow the gap between experimental hardware and everyday practicality.
