The gold price in Bangladesh hit a new all-time high in the domestic market today, crossing Tk 230,000 per bhori for the first time after hovering below the level for nearly two weeks.

New Record in Domestic Gold Market
According to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus), gold will be traded at Tk 232,055 per bhori (11.664 grammes) in the local market from today. With this update, the gold price in Bangladesh has surpassed its previous record set on December 29, when it reached Tk 229,431 per bhori.
Comparison With Previous Rates
Jewellers sold gold at Tk 227,856 per bhori for two consecutive days from January 11. The latest revision means the gold price in Bangladesh has increased by Tk 4,200 per bhori, or 1.84 percent, compared to the previous rate.
Reason Behind the Price Hike
Bajus announced the new rate yesterday, citing a rise in the prices of pure gold in the market as the reason for the adjustment in the gold price in Bangladesh.
In summary, the gold price in Bangladesh has reached a fresh record of Tk 232,055 per bhori, reflecting a significant rise driven by higher pure gold prices, according to Bajus.
