Huawei Mate 80 Series Nears 6 Million Sales as Demand Holds Steady

By Tarek HasanMay 12, 20262 Mins Read

Huawei’s Mate 80 smartphone lineup is approaching another sales milestone less than five months after its market debut, according to new figures shared by smartphone market analyst @RDObservation.

The latest shipment data indicates that the Huawei Mate 80 series has now reached 5.7816 million units through the 18th week of this year. The figures suggest the flagship range is steadily moving toward the 6 million mark, even as newer devices enter the company’s portfolio.

Weekly sales of the series are said to be increasing by roughly 150,000 to 200,000 units, reflecting continued consumer demand across Huawei’s premium smartphone segment.

The Mate 80 family includes four devices: the standard Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design. Among them, the standard version has reportedly emerged as the strongest seller for two consecutive months.

The performance of the base model appears closely tied to Huawei’s pricing approach, which helped position the device competitively within the flagship market. While higher-end variants initially saw more limited momentum, shipment growth later expanded after Huawei opened 30-day pre-order subscriptions for the Mate 80 Pro Max and RS Ultimate models.

As production capacity for those devices improved, demand for the premium editions also began to strengthen. The report noted that the broader Mate 80 lineup is now being associated with shipment expectations exceeding 10 million units, although no official company forecast was cited.

The figures arrive at a time when Huawei is also introducing its latest Pura-branded smartphones to the market. The newly released Pura 90 series has reportedly shipped more than 170,000 units within five days of its official launch, signaling a strong early response from buyers.

Huawei has not publicly commented on the latest shipment estimates. Still, the continued sales pace of the Mate 80 series suggests the company’s flagship portfolio remains active in the market despite increasing competition and a growing number of new device releases across the industry.

For Huawei, the latest numbers point to sustained demand rather than a short-lived launch cycle, particularly for its standard Mate model, which continues to draw buyers months after release.
