The Insta360 GO Ultra AI assistant has arrived as an update to the pocket camera, turning the wearable camera into a hands-free smart gadget for questions, translation and visual information. T3 reported that the update began rolling out through the Insta360 app on August 7, 2026.
The assistant is built using Google Gemini, according to T3’s report. Users can ask spoken questions, request real-time conversation translation and point the camera at an object or scene for analysis. The feature is intended to work while the camera is worn, held or attached to clothing.
T3 said the assistant can identify objects, interpret unfamiliar writing and provide information about places such as landmarks or museums. It also described voice questions about travel, food, prices and weather as examples of the feature’s use.
Insta360’s product page lists the GO Ultra as a hands-free camera with ultra-high-definition recording, an upgraded battery and expandable storage. The product page also identifies an AI voice assistant that can translate conversations and answer questions while a user is travelling.
The GO Ultra uses a small camera body and mounting system instead of glasses with a camera built into the frame. That gives the owner more flexibility in how the device is positioned, but it also means the camera can still record images in public spaces and should be used with awareness of local privacy rules.
T3 reported that availability of the AI assistant may vary by language and region. The verified update therefore establishes the rollout and main capabilities, while the exact feature set for each country depends on the Insta360 app version and local support.
