Jahid ikbal, special correspondent : On January 10, an international peace NGO, HWPL, conducted a winter relief volunteer activity in Dorshipara Village, Khagrachari, Chattogram, Bangladesh. The Khagrachari area of Chattogram is characterized by mountainous terrain and poor transportation conditions, which limit access to basic daily necessities. During the winter season, falling temperatures further exacerbate the shortage of adequate warm clothing. In addition, due to economic hardship, many children and adolescents are unable to obtain essential educational supplies needed for their studies, making the provision of winter clothing and educational materials a important form of support to help stabilize daily life and improve the local learning environment.

This volunteer activity was organized in collaboration with HWPL and Bangladesh’s Shibalee Humanity Foundation, with the aim of supporting local residents facing difficulties in their livelihoods and living conditions.

On the day of the event, numerous volunteers worked together to ensure the smooth distribution of relief supplies. A session introducing HWPL was also held, providing local residents and partner organizations with an opportunity to share HWPL’s vision and purpose for peace activities.

Banarup Barua, Chairman of the Shibalee Humanity Foundation, stated that the collaboration with HWPL reflects a shared commitment to realizing peace. He said, “I am truly happy to be associated with HWPL in the international arena. Bangladesh is receiving encouragement and inspiration through the activities of the Shibalee Humanity Foundation,” adding, “I firmly believe that HWPL will continue to support more volunteer activities in the future. We are one.”

Based on the value of “People for People,” HWPL promotes peace activities around the world to address the root causes of war and conflict and to achieve sustainable peace. In particular, HWPL focuses on fostering a culture of peace through citizen participation and international solidarity, helping local communities build the capacity to practice peace on their own.

In particular, the Shibalee Humanity Foundation is a local NGO that has long carried out humanitarian assistance as well as educational and welfare activities centered in the Chattogram region, providing practical support based on its deep understanding of and trust within the local community. HWPL partnered with the Shibalee Humanity Foundation to share a common vision of realizing peace and humanitarian values and to deliver effective and sustainable support to local residents. This collaboration an international peace organization and a local NGO to support the community.

HWPL will continue to carry out diverse peace and volunteer initiatives in cooperation with local communities around the world, guided by its commitment to “People for People.”
