The theatrical run of O’Romeo, the romantic action thriller starring Shahid Kapoor, has entered a quieter phase at the box office nearly three weeks after its release. The film opened to considerable anticipation when it arrived in cinemas on February 13, 2026, bringing together Kapoor and director Vishal Bhardwaj once again. Early momentum was evident during its first weekend, but recent numbers suggest the pace has slowed significantly.
Kapoor appears in the film in a gritty action role, while Tripti Dimri plays the female lead opposite him. The pairing marked their first on-screen collaboration, something that had drawn attention in the weeks leading up to the release. With Bhardwaj directing, expectations were naturally high given the duo’s previous collaborations.
The early days of the release seemed to justify that optimism. The film began with a solid opening day collection of Rs 8.5 crore in India. Audience turnout strengthened over the first weekend as the film built early traction at theatres.
However, the momentum did not sustain at the same level as the weeks progressed. According to figures reported by Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 0.65 crore on its eighteenth day in theatres, a notable dip compared with its initial performance.
Collections Ease After Early Momentum
By the end of Day 18, O’Romeo had accumulated an estimated Rs 65.80 crore in India. Globally, the film has reached Rs 101.75 crore so far.
The pattern of earnings reflects a familiar trajectory for many theatrical releases: a strong start followed by gradual declines as the weeks pass. During its first week, the film generated around Rs 47.1 crore domestically. The second week added another Rs 14.45 crore to the total.
Collections in the days following that period have been more modest. The film earned Rs 1.15 crore on Day 15, followed by Rs 1.3 crore on Day 16 and Rs 1.15 crore on Day 17 before slipping further on Day 18.
The story behind O’Romeo draws from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, a title that has inspired several film and streaming projects over the years. Bhardwaj’s interpretation blends romance with crime drama elements, placing Kapoor’s character at the center of the narrative.
The supporting cast includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Mishra, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani, and Tamannaah Bhatia. For Kapoor and Bhardwaj, this project marks their fourth collaboration after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon.
Despite generally positive responses from many viewers and critics, the film currently carries an IMDb rating of 5.8.
With its theatrical run approaching the three-week mark, O’Romeo continues to add to its overall total, though the pace suggests the film is now relying largely on residual weekday audiences rather than the crowds seen earlier in its release.
