Blizzard will debut a story trailer for D.Mon, Overwatch’s newest tank hero, on August 6 at 9 a.m. Pacific time, with a full gameplay and abilities reveal following one day later on August 7.

D.Mon is introduced as one of D.Va’s MEKA squadmates, extending the Korean mech-pilot unit’s roster within Overwatch’s ongoing story. The character pilots a mech called Beast, described as more humanoid in design than D.Va’s own mech, Tokki, with arms equipped with an energy shield and a sword.
The reveal is part of Overwatch’s Reign of Talon season, which has so far introduced only one other tank-class hero, Domina, since the season began. D.Mon’s addition as a second tank gives Blizzard a chance to diversify a role that typically has the smallest hero pool in the game.
According to community leaks that have circulated ahead of the official unveiling, D.Mon is expected to introduce a new type of health mechanic distinct from the standard armor and shield categories already in the game, along with mobile, flight-capable movement, a combination that would set the hero apart from existing tanks built around ground-based positioning.
Blizzard has not confirmed the leaked ability details itself, and specifics are expected to remain unofficial until the August 7 gameplay reveal. The studio has used a two-stage rollout for recent hero launches, pairing a narrative trailer with a follow-up gameplay breakdown days later, a format aimed at building anticipation while giving the community time to react to lore reveals before mechanics are shown.
The Reign of Talon season has centered on Talon’s expanded role in the Overwatch storyline, with hero additions this year tied more closely to ongoing narrative arcs than in earlier seasons. D.Mon’s introduction continues that pattern, tying a new playable character directly to an existing cast member’s backstory rather than introducing a fully unconnected hero.
