Pentagon Releases Fifth Batch Of UFO Files And Videos

By Rithe RoseAugust 8, 20262 Mins Read

The Pentagon released 41 new documents, images, and videos related to unidentified aerial phenomena on August 7, marking the fifth batch of UFO records made public in recent months.

The release follows an executive order signed by President Trump earlier this year directing federal agencies to declassify and publish government records tied to unidentified aerial phenomena, often referred to as UAP. The files posted this week come from the Pentagon, the FBI, the CIA, the State Department, and the Executive Office of the President.

The records span decades. The oldest document dates back to 1950, while the most recent material was captured this year, according to CNN and CBS News, which reviewed the release.

Six of the videos show different angles of the same incident, an encounter over the Gulf of Oman involving Special Operations forces aboard an AC-130J gunship in September 2021. The clips are cellphone recordings of onboard sensor screens showing objects picked up by the aircraft’s infrared systems.

A separate clip, submitted by US Central Command, shows footage from a military aircraft flying over a populated area in the Middle East in 2025. The video appears to show an object moving quickly across the frame before disappearing from view.

The batch also includes FBI-created renderings based on firsthand witness accounts, among them a depiction of a triangle-shaped object that reportedly hovered near the ground for several seconds before darting away without leaving any visible trail.

None of the documents released so far confirm an extraterrestrial origin for any of the sightings, and officials involved in the declassification effort have repeatedly said the goal is transparency about what the government has recorded, not a conclusion about what the objects were.

Four earlier batches were released over the preceding months as part of the same declassification push, gradually working through a backlog of reports that in some cases sat unreviewed for decades. This round stands out for including a named military unit and a specific, dated incident, the AC-130J gunship encounter over the Gulf of Oman, rather than an unverified public sighting with no official record attached.
