Realme 16x 5G Launches in India With 7000mAh Battery

By Tarek HasanAugust 15, 20262 Mins Read

Realme launched the 16x 5G in India on August 12. Sales began the next day through Flipkart, the Realme website and retail stores. Pricing starts at Rs 25,999.

The base model pairs 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at that price. A 6GB/128GB variant sells for Rs 27,999, and a 6GB/256GB version costs Rs 30,999. The phone comes in two colors, Endurance Brown and Glory White.

Battery life is the headline feature. The 16x 5G packs a 7,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging. That capacity is unusually large for the segment. It targets buyers who want a phone that lasts a full day of heavy use without a top-up.

The display is a 6.81-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel running at a 144Hz refresh rate. A MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset powers the phone. Camera hardware is modest, with a 50-megapixel main sensor on the back and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

The 16x 5G slots into Realme’s budget 5G lineup. It competes against similarly priced phones from Redmi, Poco and Motorola in India’s crowded sub-Rs-30,000 segment. Realme has leaned on oversized batteries as a differentiator in this price band before. The 16x 5G continues that pattern rather than chasing camera or display specs.

Realme’s push into oversized batteries comes as its India market position has slipped. IDC data put Realme’s market share at 8.8 percent in the first quarter of 2026. That ranked it sixth among the country’s top smartphone brands, with unit sales contracting further in the second quarter. Apple overtook Realme in India’s top five rankings earlier this year. That adds pressure on Realme to differentiate through pricing and battery life rather than premium branding.

Realme has not said whether the 16x 5G will launch in markets outside India. The phone continues Realme’s long-standing online-first distribution model in the country, leaning on Flipkart exclusivity before the device reaches wider retail shelves.
