Xiaomi Confirms April 21 Launch for Redmi Book Pro 2026 Laptops

By Tarek HasanApril 14, 20263 Mins Read

Xiaomi has set April 21, 2026, as the launch date for its latest Redmi-branded laptops in China, placing the new devices alongside a broader product unveiling that includes the Redmi K90 Max. The announcement offers a clearer timeline for a lineup that the company has positioned as a more accessible alternative within its expanding premium laptop portfolio.

The upcoming Redmi Book Pro 2026 series will sit below Xiaomi’s recently introduced Panther Lake-powered Book Pro models in terms of pricing, while retaining a number of high-end specifications. Two variants are expected, built around 14-inch and 16-inch displays, continuing a familiar dual-size approach for users with differing portability and performance needs.

Configuration options appear to cover a wide range. At the higher end, Xiaomi is preparing a model equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H processor, paired with the Arc B390 integrated GPU. Mid-tier versions are expected to feature the Core Ultra 5 338H, while entry configurations may use the Core Ultra 5 325. The spread suggests a deliberate attempt to cover both performance-focused users and those seeking a more budget-conscious option.

Battery capacity is another area where Xiaomi is drawing attention. The 14-inch model is expected to carry a 92 Wh battery, while the larger version may include a 99 Wh unit. Despite the smaller capacity, the company claims the 14-inch device can reach up to 37 hours of local video playback under certain conditions, though full testing details remain unspecified.

Charging capabilities also lean toward flexibility. The smaller model supports 90 W fast charging and is compatible with a range of charging protocols, including PPS. Xiaomi has yet to confirm full display specifications, but both devices are anticipated to use high-resolution LCD panels.

The Redmi Book Pro 2026 arrives against the backdrop of Xiaomi’s existing Panther Lake laptop lineup, which launched at starting prices of CNY 7,999 and climbs to CNY 9,999 for higher-end configurations. By comparison, the Redmi series is expected to enter the market at lower price points, though exact figures have not been disclosed.

That pricing distinction may prove central to Xiaomi’s broader strategy. While the company is not framing the new models as direct challengers, the combination of updated Intel hardware and lower expected costs places the Redmi Book Pro 2026 in a competitive position within the premium-but-accessible segment.

With the launch event now days away, attention is likely to shift toward final pricing and real-world performance, which will determine how effectively Xiaomi can balance affordability with the expectations attached to its Pro branding.
