Samsung is preparing for what could become one of its most closely watched product launches in recent years, with reports pointing to a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 in London. The company is expected to introduce several new devices across its foldable and wearable categories, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9 series, a newly designed Galaxy Fold Wide, and Samsung’s first smart glasses, reportedly called the Galaxy Glasses.

Much of the attention is centered on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to continue Samsung’s push to refine foldable smartphones rather than radically redesign them. The upcoming model is rumored to feature a thinner and lighter body alongside improvements to the hinge and display structure intended to reduce the visibility of the fold crease. Battery efficiency is also expected to improve, while updates to the camera hardware and processor would keep the device positioned at the top end of Samsung’s premium lineup.
The Fold 8 is reportedly set to retain a 7.6-inch inner Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, paired with a 6.3-inch outer display. Reports also suggest Samsung may continue offering S-Pen support on the inner screen. Storage configurations could extend up to 1TB, with higher RAM options aimed at multitasking and productivity users.
Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8, continuing the company’s smaller foldable series that has traditionally appealed to users looking for a more compact design. While fewer details have emerged about the device, reports suggest Samsung is focusing on a larger external display and upgraded internal hardware while maintaining the familiar clamshell form factor.
Alongside those devices, the company is rumored to be introducing a new direction for foldables through the Galaxy Fold Wide. The model is expected to move away from the tall, narrow outer display design seen in previous Fold devices in favor of a wider layout closer to a conventional smartphone shape. The approach appears aimed at improving usability when the device is closed and enhancing multitasking when unfolded.
According to the reported specifications, the Fold Wide may include a larger 8-inch internal display and a more advanced camera system, potentially featuring a high-resolution primary sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. Samsung is also expected to focus heavily on thinness and portability despite the larger footprint.
Wearables are likely to remain a major part of the event. The Galaxy Watch 9 series is expected to bring measured improvements rather than a major redesign, with updates reportedly centered on battery performance, health tracking features, and notification handling.
The most closely watched announcement beyond smartphones may be Samsung’s first smart glasses. Developed in partnership with eyewear brand Gentle Monster, the Galaxy Glasses are rumored to combine artificial intelligence tools, augmented reality functions, and connected smartphone features in a lightweight wearable format. Reports suggest possible support for live translation, integrated cameras, and AR-based notifications.
If the reported lineup proves accurate, Samsung would be broadening its strategy beyond foldable phones and deeper into AI-driven wearable technology. The event would also underline how central foldables have become to the company’s long-term hardware plans as competition in the premium smartphone market continues to evolve.
