There is a clear direction emerging from Tecno this year, and it centres on endurance. While some of its upcoming devices remain officially unannounced, regulatory filings are beginning to fill in key details, particularly around battery capacity.

The Tecno Pova 8, which was quietly showcased during Mobile World Congress in early March, has now surfaced in a TUV certification listing. The documentation points to a 7,750 mAh battery, marking a significant jump from the 6,000 mAh unit used in its predecessor. For a brand that has steadily positioned its Pova line around performance and heavy usage, the increase is notable.
The listing does not confirm additional specifications, but the battery figure alone suggests that Tecno is pushing further into long-use territory, particularly for users who prioritise extended screen time and gaming sessions without frequent charging.
A similar pattern appears in another upcoming device. The Tecno Spark 50 Pro has also been spotted in the same certification database, revealing a 5,800 mAh battery. While smaller than the Pova 8âs capacity, it still represents an upgrade over the 5,200 mAh battery found in the Tecno Spark 40 Pro.
This comes shortly after the company introduced the Tecno Spark 50 5G toward the end of March, though the Pro variant has yet to be formally announced. The staggered rollout suggests that Tecno is spacing out launches within the same series, possibly to maintain momentum across different price segments.
Both newly listed devices appear to rely on Si/C battery technology, which allows for higher capacity without a proportional increase in physical size. The shift hints at a broader strategy rather than isolated upgrades, pointing to battery life as a central selling point across multiple product lines this year.
For users, the practical impact is straightforward. Larger batteries, if paired with efficient hardware, can translate into longer daily use and fewer charging interruptions. That remains one of the more tangible improvements consumers tend to notice.

For now, both the Pova 8 and Spark 50 Pro remain unofficial. Certification listings often precede launches by weeks or months, and until Tecno confirms details, some aspects will remain unclear. Still, the direction is difficult to miss, and it places battery longevity firmly at the centre of the companyâs current product cycle.
