A fresh report out of South Korea is offering a clearer sense of when Samsung may next take the stage to unveil its foldable lineup, pointing to a late July event in London that could bring several long-anticipated updates to the company’s premium devices.

According to the Korea Economic Times, Samsung is preparing to hold its next Unpacked event on July 22 in London, continuing a recent pattern of moving its foldable launches across major global cities. If the date holds, the company would be keeping close to its established summer timeline for foldable announcements.
The report says the event is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 alongside a second device described as a “Wide” foldable. While details on that model remain limited, its mention suggests Samsung may be expanding its foldable portfolio rather than simply iterating on existing designs.
There is no direct reference to a Galaxy Z Flip 8 in the report, though historically Samsung has unveiled its Fold and Flip devices together. The absence of the Flip model in this instance leaves a gap, but it would be unusual for the company to break from that pairing without clear explanation.
Samsung has also used its summer Unpacked events to introduce new smartwatch models. This year appears no different, with the Galaxy Watch 9 likely to be included in the lineup, although the report stops short of confirming it outright.
One of the more notable claims concerns the S Pen. The stylus, absent from last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, may be making a return. The report indicates Samsung plans to “sequentially introduce” the S Pen following the unveiling of the Wide foldable, though the exact timing and implementation are not clearly defined.
Samsung had previously removed S Pen support from the Fold 7, citing efforts to reduce the device’s thickness. At the time, the decision drew attention from users who had come to expect stylus compatibility as part of the Fold’s appeal. There have since been indications, including remarks from the company, that a revised approach to stylus technology could bring the feature back.
The report also links the potential return of the S Pen to increasing competition in the foldable market. It notes that Apple is expected to enter the segment later this year, while rival Android manufacturers have been reinforcing stylus support in their own devices.
For now, Samsung has not publicly confirmed the date, location, or product lineup for its next Unpacked event. The July timeline, however, aligns closely with its recent launch cycles, and the choice of London would mark another shift in venue following events in Seoul, Paris, and New York.

As with all early reports, some details remain unclear. But taken together, they suggest Samsung is preparing a broader update to its foldable range, with design changes and feature decisions likely shaped by both internal priorities and a more competitive market landscape.
