vivo X300 Ultra 400mm and 200mm Teleconverter Lenses Expand Mobile Photography and Videography

By Bhuiyan Md TomalMarch 9, 20264 Mins Read

The vivo X300 Ultra 400mm and 200mm teleconverter lenses are positioning the upcoming flagship as one of the most ambitious camera-focused smartphones in development. The accessories are part of a new Professional Photographer Kit designed to transform the phone into a modular photography and filmmaking tool.

The device is expected to launch globally, with vivo highlighting partnerships with optics brand Zeiss and camera accessory maker SmallRig. The goal is to push the X300 Ultra beyond traditional smartphone photography by offering interchangeable lenses, physical controls, and professional video accessories.

A modular camera system built around the vivo X300 Ultra

The most striking addition is a new 400mm equivalent teleconverter lens. Designed in collaboration with Zeiss, the accessory attaches over the phone’s native telephoto camera and significantly extends optical reach for distant subjects.

Alongside it, vivo is introducing a redesigned 200mm teleconverter lens. This updated version is noticeably smaller and lighter than the earlier model used in previous photography kits. The reduced size is expected to improve balance when mounted on the phone.

Both lenses connect through the same mounting system used in earlier vivo photography kits. This means some accessories remain interchangeable between models. The 400mm option, however, represents a major step toward extreme telephoto capability in smartphone photography.

The larger lens inevitably shifts weight toward the front of the device. Telephoto optics traditionally rely on tripod mounts to reduce strain on camera mounts, and early demonstrations suggest the 400mm attachment may benefit from additional support when used for extended shooting sessions.

The photography kit also includes a redesigned camera grip. Physical controls now extend beyond a standard shutter button. Users gain access to a zoom lever, scroll wheel, dedicated video record button, and an extra customizable function button.

A new flash trigger button has also been added, reflecting vivo’s intention to provide a camera experience that mirrors traditional mirrorless camera controls.

Video-focused hardware turns the phone into a compact film rig

Photography is only one part of the strategy. The X300 Ultra is also being positioned as a compact filmmaking platform through a separate Pro Video Rig Kit developed with SmallRig.

The rig centers the smartphone inside a protective cage and adds two side handles for stability. Each handle includes Bluetooth controls, allowing users to trigger recording or adjust zoom while holding the rig with both hands.

The cage itself is designed with expansion in mind. Multiple cold shoe mounts and quick-release connectors allow accessories such as microphones, monitors, external storage drives, or lighting equipment to be attached.

Demonstrations show an adjustable LED light mounted above the phone, along with an active cooling fan positioned behind the device to manage heat during long recording sessions.

On the software side, the X300 Ultra supports native 10-bit Log recording across all three cameras. This feature is commonly used in professional filmmaking because it preserves more color data for post-production grading.

Vivo also introduced a new video processing mode called 4K Master Color Video. The company says the goal is to produce smoother tonal transitions and reduce the overly sharpened look often associated with smartphone footage.

Audio recording is also receiving attention. The phone’s pro video application can prioritize sound coming directly from a subject, helping isolate voices or key audio in noisy environments.

The vivo X300 Ultra 400mm and 200mm teleconverter lenses represent a clear shift toward modular smartphone photography. By pairing extended optical reach with filmmaking accessories and professional controls, vivo is pushing the X300 Ultra into territory traditionally occupied by dedicated cameras.

FYI (keeping you in the loop)-
