Vivo has expanded its X300 series in China with two new additions, placing a clear emphasis on imaging hardware as competition intensifies at the top end of the smartphone market. The newly introduced X300 Ultra and X300s join the existing X300 and X300 Pro, rounding out a lineup that now stretches across multiple price and performance tiers.

The spotlight, however, sits firmly on the X300 Ultra. The device introduces a dual 200-megapixel camera system, an approach not previously seen in commercial smartphones. One sensor handles primary imaging, while the second is dedicated to periscope zoom, reflecting a deliberate push toward long-range photography without sacrificing resolution.
Developed in partnership with Zeiss, the camera system extends beyond raw megapixels. Vivo is offering optional ZEISS G2 Ultra and G2 teleconverters, effectively extending focal lengths to 400mm and 200mm equivalents. The company refers to this arrangement as a âmaster lens group,â suggesting a modular approach to mobile photography that borrows from traditional camera systems.
The X300 Ultra is built around a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It runs on Qualcommâs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and supports up to 16GB of RAM alongside storage options reaching 1TB. The device is powered by a 6,600mAh battery, with support for both wired and wireless fast charging.
Alongside it, the X300s takes a more conventional route, though it remains firmly in the flagship category. It features a 200-megapixel main camera but pairs it with lower-resolution telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. The display measures slightly smaller at 6.78 inches, and the device runs on MediaTekâs Dimensity 9500 chipset.
Battery capacity on the X300s is notably higher at 7,100mAh, though wired charging is capped slightly lower than the Ultra variant. Both devices carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating resistance to dust and water, and ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, Vivo may bring the X300 Ultra to India, which, if confirmed, would mark the first time the company releases its Ultra-branded flagship outside China. The move would align with a broader shift among manufacturers, as brands look beyond their domestic markets for high-end growth.
