Vivoâs most premium smartphone yet, the X300 Ultra, is now being tipped for an early May debut in India, with fresh reports pointing to a launch date of May 7. If accurate, the device could go on sale a week later, from May 14, marking the companyâs first attempt to bring its âUltraâ line to the Indian market.

The timeline comes from a report citing tipster Yogesh Brar, though the company has not made any official announcement so far. With less than a month remaining, industry watchers expect Vivo to begin teasing the device soon if the schedule holds.
There are indications that the X300 Ultra may not arrive alone. The Vivo X300 FE is also said to be launching on the same day, suggesting a broader push across segments. While details around the FE variant remain limited, the Ultra model has already drawn attention following its debut in China last month.
The X300 Ultra positions itself squarely as a camera-first flagship. It features a 200-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens capable of 3.7x optical zoom. Vivo is also offering a dedicated teleconverter, which extends optical reach significantly, alongside digital zoom capabilities that stretch beyond typical smartphone limits.
Supporting the main sensors is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the front houses another 50-megapixel unit. The emphasis is clearly on photography, particularly long-range imaging, an area where smartphone makers have been competing aggressively in recent years.
Beyond the camera system, the phone carries a large 7,000mAh battery, paired with a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display offering 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The hardware is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, placing it firmly in flagship territory.
Design-wise, the device continues with Vivoâs familiar circular camera module and flat-edged frame, offered in multiple colour options including green, silver, and black.
Pricing for India remains unclear. In China, the device starts at CNY 6,999, roughly translating to just under Rs 1 lakh. However, local pricing is expected to differ, especially given that the X300 Pro already sits above the Rs 1 lakh mark.

For now, the reported dates remain unconfirmed. But if the launch proceeds as suggested, the X300 Ultra would enter an increasingly competitive premium segment where camera performance is becoming a key battleground.
