Xiaomi launched the 17T in India on June 4, bringing one of the most battery-forward mid-range phones of the year to the market. The 6,500mAh silicon-carbon cell with 67W HyperCharge fast charging is the standout spec — it gives the 17T a practical advantage over almost everything else in its price bracket. Sales started on June 10 through Amazon, mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores.
The display is a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits. Inside, the phone runs a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The camera system is where Xiaomi has invested the most. The rear triple setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP Leica-certified 5x periscope telephoto with OIS. The front camera is 32MP. Leica’s involvement means color science and lens profiles tuned through a real camera collaboration rather than a branding deal.
Pricing starts at Rs 59,999 for the 12GB and 256GB configuration, with the 512GB variant at Rs 64,999. Three colorways are available: Black, Blue, and Violet. The phone runs HyperOS 2, Xiaomi’s in-house software skin, built on Android 16.
At this price, the Xiaomi 17T competes directly with the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ and sits just below the OnePlus 15s. The combination of a Leica telephoto and the 6,500mAh battery makes it a hard sell to argue against for buyers who want both camera quality and all-day endurance in one device.
