Xiaomi has begun teasing its upcoming 17T series in India ahead of the phones’ scheduled global debut on May 28, signalling the company’s next push in the premium mid-range segment. The lineup is expected to include the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, though Xiaomi has not yet confirmed when the devices will arrive in the Indian market.

The new models are set to succeed last year’s Xiaomi 15T series and are expected to continue the company’s focus on high-end specifications positioned below its flagship range. While promotional activity has already started in India, uncertainty remains over whether both variants will be introduced locally.
According to tipster Ahsan, the Xiaomi 17T Pro may not launch in India. Xiaomi itself has not commented on market availability or regional plans for the devices.
Leaked specifications suggest the standard Xiaomi 17T could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, while the Pro version may come with a larger 6.83-inch panel. Both displays are expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3500 nits.
The two phones are also tipped to use different MediaTek chipsets. The Xiaomi 17T is rumoured to run on the Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro may carry the more powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset. Both devices are expected to support up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Camera hardware appears to be another area Xiaomi is targeting aggressively. Reports indicate both phones could feature Leica-tuned triple rear cameras, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation. The Pro model is also said to use a larger OmniVision OV50Q primary sensor.
For front-facing photography, both handsets are expected to include a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Other features linked to the devices include in-display fingerprint sensors, dual stereo speakers, and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. The phones are also expected to ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Battery capacity may become one of the more noticeable differences between the two models. The Xiaomi 17T is tipped to pack a 6500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The Xiaomi 17T Pro, meanwhile, is expected to feature a 7000mAh battery alongside 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
Pricing leaks place the Xiaomi 17T at 749 Euros for the 12GB and 256GB variant, while the 512GB version could be priced at 799 Euros. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to start at 999 Euros for the 512GB model, with the 1TB version reportedly reaching 1099 Euros.
